Domestic steel and ferro-alloy industry to face acute raw material shortage

The Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) recently organised 'Manganese/Chrome Ores and Ferro-Alloys Summit' in Visakhapatnam. Speaking on the Summit, Sunil Duggal, President, FIMI, said that 7 manganese mines and 4 working chromite mines will shut operations by March 2020. With this, the steel and ferroalloy manufacturing companies are expected to face a huge shortage of key raw materials.
