EMEC to support first marine energy centre in China

摘要

The European Marine Energy Centre(EMEC),based in Orkney,Scotland,is to support Qingdao Pilot National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology(QNLM) to develop the first wave and tidal test centre for marine energy converters(MECs) in China.EMEC,which has over 15 years of experience in the design,build and operation of marine energy test facilities,has worked for the past seven years providing support and guidance to create the centre.The test centre,scheduled to be operational by 2020,will be situated in the Shandong Provence on China's eastern coastline,near Zhaitang Island.The location has ideal conditions for testing marine energy devices which capture wave and tidal energy and convert it to electricity.
