California's Green Chemistry Initiative

One of the issues ILMA has been monitoring for the past year is the California Environmental Protection Agency's (Cal/EPA) evolving "Green Chemistry Initiative," which is intended to promote lower-risk chemicals. However, in recent weeks, business and industry groups in California have come out in opposition to many of the regulatory options being floated by Cal/EPA, such as taxes on toxic chemicals, chemical bans, and rules requiring companies to present more information on chemicals to the State.
