China's titanium dioxide exports rise in July

China's titanium dioxide exports rose in July in response to a recovery in demand outside of China, following declines dur-ing the second quarter of this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. China exported 97,517t of titanium dioxide, up by 10.1pc from a year earlier and by 26.2pc from June, according to cus-toms data, as more countries lifted Covid-19-related restric-tions following lockdowns during April-June. The average price fell to $1,821/t in July, down by 5pc from June and by 17pc from a year earlier, because of ferce com-petition among Chinese exporters that had ramped up output this year.
