China-delivered coke prices were mixed on the week, with buyers turning their attention to coke from sources other than the US but having little interest overall. Market participants are fearing an escalation of the tariff war between the US and China, and expect that US coke will be taxed at 25pc or higher in coming months. One Chinese buyer was heard to have resold one of its US Gulf high-sulphur term contract cargoes to a US buyer on an fob basis.
