Black Sea merchant pig iron price falls; bid-offer spread widens

CIS sellers of merchant pig iron in the Black Sea market are maintaining their offer prices despite a failure to gain any traction with buyers in key markets, sources said Friday. S&P Global Platts' weekly pig iron assessment fell $5 to $340/mt FOB Black Sea. Sources said offers from CIS players would have to fall if suppliers want to win orders any time soon. One source heard that some mills are still sitting on May production.
