Asia-Pacifc presents opportunity for US coal

The big growth market for US coal exports is in Asia-Pacifc, particularly in India, Japan and China, according to a mining expert. In India, projections of an increase in electricity demand is driving renewed interest in coal-fred power, said Ian Lange, director of mineral and energy economics at the Colorado School of Mines.
