China’s biggest gas supplier state-controlled PetroChina has raised pipeline supplies to Beijing to help meet stronger winter gas demand. The frm supplied an average of 102mn m~3/d of gas to the Beijing city area via its pipeline network from 1-17 January, up by 12pc against a year earlier. Supplies broke through the 100mn m~3/d level on 9 January and surged by a combined 48mn m~3/d over 13-15 January. Supplies accounted for around 22pc of PetroChina’s total pipeline deliveries in China of 453mn m~3/d in the 17-day period, which was up by 13pc from a year earlier.
