Negotiations suggest lower US coking coal prices

Negotiations between US coking coal producers and buyers suggest prices for year-ahead deliveries of the steel-making material will be lower in 2018 than in 2017. Prices of coking coal for the 2018 calendar year have been discussed at $105/short ton fob mine for low-volatile and high volatile type-A, and at $80/st for high volatile type-B coal, a report from financial services company FBR Capital Markets published 27 September said.
