California refiners lift September production

California refiners maintained strong throughputs in the week ended 22 September, with the largest volume of September crude processing in almost 10 years, according to the Califor- nia Energy Commission. Refiners in the state averaged 1.8mn b/d of crude through- puts in the week, higher by 5pc from the previous week and 8pc higher than the same week last year. It was the highest throughput for September since 2008, according to agency records. Crude in storage increased by 11pc from the previous week to 16.4mn bl.
