The amount of coal transported on China’s key Daqin railway line in September increased from a year earlier, amid stronger domestic coal output and more intensive government efforts to ensure suffcient supplies. The 653km line connects the major coal-producing provinc- es of Inner Mongolia region, Shanxi province and Shaanxi prov- ince to transshipment hubs including Qinhuangdao and Tianjin ports in northeast China. The line transported 37.39mn t last month or 1.25mn t/d, a rise of 26pc from the same month last year and largely fat from August.
