Haulage volumes on China's Daqin coal rail line declined in July from the same month last year because of weak demand and an increase in shipments on alternative lines. The Daqin rail line, which mainly connects China’s coal- producing heartland of Shanxi province to Qinhuangdao port, transported 37.29mn t or 1.2mn t/d last month. This was down by 4pc on the year and flat to 1.19mn t/d June. Daqin hauled 260mn t in January-July, down by 3.3pc from the year-earlier period.
