摘要

This paper deals with the transient calibration method of ultrasonic planar receivers, which uses a thick piezoelectric disk source as a reference transmitter. When such a source is excited by a short impulse current, it generates a step-shaped plane-wave pressure of well-known amplitude which can be considered as a standard pressure. In this paper, the diffraction effects due to the limited dimensions of the reference transmitter as well as the surface averaging of the incident pressure on the receiver to be calibrated are taken into account. By using the exact solution of this coupling problem, the optimal calibration conditions as well as the limitations of the method are discussed. [References: 17]
