POPULATION DENSITY OF MEDITERRANEAN FRUIT FLY CERATITIS CAPITATA USING SEXUAL AND FOOD ATTRACTANTS IN THE CITY OF BAGHDAD

The study was conducted in Baghdad at three locations at the Al- Jadiriyah, The insect males began to appear at first and second locations at the first half of March and began appear on the third location in the second half of March, The highest male density was recorded in June and July. The number of insects was fluctuated between height and decrease during months of the year and was the highest density of insect males during months of June and July and the lowest during the winter months. While females began to appear in the second half of March and at the locations, the highest density of insect females in the month of May and November at the first location and the highest density of insects female in June at the second location appeared. Note that the insect did not disappear from the presence during the winter months. Parapheromone of the Mediterranean fruit fly Trimedlure plug attracted only males while (Femilure) attracting female and male, but the number of male are few.
