Aluminium continues to be troubled by oversupply, both in the product sectors and also on the scrap side, according to speakers at the 2019 Commodities Roundtable Forum, hosted by the Washington- based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), September in Chicago. As reported by Recycling Today, the overriding conclusion was that the USChina trade war has considerably affected the flow of aluminium scrap. An overhang of primary aluminium continues to push pricing down for the metal, according to Doug Hilderhoff, a principal analyst and head of North America aluminium research for London-based CRU, at the co-Pittsburgh office.
