Aluminium recycling is a key factor in the aluminium value chain. Used aluminium has become a high-yield and indispensable source of raw material in many industrialized countries. Furthermore, aluminium recycling makes an important contribution toward saving resources and energy, and reducing emissions. At the same time, the industry faces major challenges regarding the alloy-specific sorting and melting of scrap. The tasks to be performed by consumers, processors and recyclers range from the closing of material cycles to modern, efficient recycling processes.
