摘要

The U.S. should be leading efforts to reform the World Trade Organization, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said on Tuesday, arguing that the Trump administration should "double down" on showing U.S. leadership in Geneva. Grassley's remarks came a day before his committee holds a hearing on WTO reform featuring former Appellate Body members, former U.S. negotiators and a fisheries expert. Many see an agreement in the multilateral negotiations to curb harmful fisheries subsidies as key to shoring up the credibility of the organization and moving forward reform.
