The United Kingdom's Department of International Trade said that despite reports to the contrary, the UK will not allow imports of chlorine-treated chicken and hormone-treated beef - which would block most U.S. chicken and beef exports. "Chlorinated chicken & hormone injected beef are banned in the UK, and this will be enshrined in UK law at the end of the transition period," DIT tweeted on Monday. "We won't compromise on our high food, environmental protection or animal welfare standards."
