摘要

The substituent effect prevalent in organic compounds has been applied to adjusting the photochromism of viologen-bearing coordination polymers, which enable the isoreticular compounds, {[Cd(Bpybc)(0.5)(mip) (H2O)]center dot 2H(2)O}(n) (Cd-mip) and {[Cd(Bpybc)(0.5)(nip)(H2O)]center dot H2O}(n) (Cd-nip), to display different photoresponse behaviors owing to the contribution from the electron-donating/withdrawing group on the auxiliary ligand. The present work demonstrates a practical way to regulate photochromism of target coordination polymer. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
