摘要

Pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan L.) is widely adaptable to wide variety of climate and is one of the important legume crops of tropics and subtropics. It played a major role in nutritional security for the people taking cereal based diet. Beside their dietary value and nitrogen fixing ability, pulses also play an important role in sustaining intensive agriculture by improving physical, chemical and biological properties of soil and are considered excellent crop for diversification of cereal based croppingsystem.Wilt disease caused by Fusarium udum Butler, is the most destructive soil and seed born disease of pigeon pea in India leading to heavy production losses. The F. udum is host specific to pigeon pea (Patel et al., 2011) and can survive in soil under wilted plant stubble for a long period. The best way of wilt management is by growing resistant varieties. For developing resistant varieties, resistant source are the basic requirement. Therefore, the present investigation was undertaken.
