摘要

Rice (Oryza saliva L.) is the principal cereal crop of the world contributing about 60% of the world's staple food, Cultural practices formed one of the accepted and well-conceived approach in reducing the pest incidence in many crops and more so in rice, But, the incidence of yellow stemborer, gall midge and brown plant hopper was significantly greater in fields that received high rates of nitrogen. The information on the influence of various nitrogen levels on the pest complex of rice harboured by different varieties is lacking, So, is the case with the rice hybrids recently released in India, In the present investigations field studies were conducted with different nitrogen levels and rice varieties.
