senegal revives lng import plans

Senegal is reviving plans to import LNG through a small-scale foating storage and regasifcation unit (FSRU), energy minister Mouhamadou-Makhtar Cisse says. The FSRU will supply regasifed LNG to a number of gas-fred power plants that the country is developing until 2022, when Senegal expects to start produc- ing gas from its own upstream developments, Cisse said at the 24th International Gas and Power Summit in Paris last month. Senegal is talking to potential suppli- ers and evaluating project fnancing, he said.
