Phosphate is an essential macronutrient for higher plants; phytate is a main organic phosphorous form in soil and the dominating form of identifiable organic Phosphorous. Phytase is an enzyme which can readily cleave the inositol ring of phytate and make phosphorous ready to avail to the plant. Fungi are the efficient source in the synthesis of phytase enzyme. The present study focused on application of phytase producing fungi Aspergillus niger, penicillium sps and Phosphate solubilizing bacteria, Bacillus megatherium on ground nut plants (Arachis hypogea) and in the degradation of phytate-phosphorous to benefit mineral release, plant growth and soil amendment was observed. All treatments were replicated with three times. The uninoculated pot was maintained as control. Pot experiment showed that the triple inoculation significantly increased dry matter and yield of groundnut plants as compared to the control soil. Significant increment in percentage of protein and oil was also recorded. There was an increase in the percentage of nutrient content of the plant. Soil analysis showed that there was a significant variation in physico-chemical properties of soil when compared to the initial soil.
