US prices flat to lower

Coal prices were flat to lower across the US last week as soft domestic demand and a closed arbitrage to international markets slowed activity. Prices in the Northern and Central Appalachian basins fell almost across-the-board. Prompt quarter CSX rail-originated coal with 12,500 Btu/lb dropped by $1/short ton to $68.45/st.
