Japan's Chubu, Marubeni plan biomass power plant

Japanese utility Chubu Electric Power and trading house Marubeni are planning to build a small-scale biomass power plant, taking advantage of the country’s feed-in- tarif (FiT) scheme. Chubu and Marubeni will construct the 7.5MW biomass power plant at Godo in central Japan’s Gifu prefecture through their 50:50 joint venture Gifu Seino Green Power. Construction is scheduled to begin in October next year, targeting commissioning in March 2023.
