Danish state-controlled utility Orsted's heat and power generation from its bioenergy assets fell in the third quarter, as above average temperatures in Denmark "negatively impacted" consumption, it said. Heat generation in the bioenergy sector slid to 0.3TWh, down by 57.1pc from 0.7TWh in the third quarter last year. The number of heating degree days in the third quarter was 76, compared with 115 in July-September 2017, Orsted said. The average temperature in Copenhagen across the third quarter was 18.75°C, 1.88°C above the 10-year norm of 16.87°C. Average temperatures in Copenhagen during the third quarter last year were 0.91°C below the 10-year seasonal norm, with August particularly chilly.
