Tauron biomass burn spikes in 4Q 2018

Polish utility Tauron significantly increased its electricity generation using biomass in the fourth quarter of last year, citing improved competitiveness because of stronger emissions prices, but the growth was not enough to turn around an overall decline in biomass burn in 2018. Tauron generated 100GWh at biomass-fired plants in October-December, up by 66pc on the year and 150pc on the quarter.
