Asian Industrial Biomass: PKS rises again

The Indonesia palm kernel shell (PKS) spot index increased for the sixth consecutive week on Wednesday, on the back of tight Indonesian supply, and supply disruptions in Malaysia caused by the country’s lockdown as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The spot east coast Sumatra Indonesia PKS price rose by $1/t on the week to $104.14/t fob on Wednesday, another record high since Argus launched the index in May 2017. The weekly price increase comes despite a $3/t decrease in Indonesia’s PKS export tax package for April.
