FAR ready to order for new Gambia wildcat

FAR said it will start ordering long lead items shortly for a wildcat off The Gambia early next year although it still has to conclude talks to extend the licence which expires this month. The Australian firm drilled the unsuccessful Samo well in Block A2 only 30km away from Cairn's SNE field off Senegal late last year. Samo was an 825m bbl prospect in 3,335ft (1,017m) of water around 112km offshore on trend with SNE but both reservoirs were water bearing although oil shows were encountered at several levels.
