FAR puts Gambia wildcat on hold

FAR has put plans for a wildcat offshore The Gambia later this year on hold, although realistically it was uncertain anyway until a new partner could be found. The company holds Blocks A2 and A5 off the state and had been looking at once again drilling in the most northerly of the blocks - A2 - which abuts Woodside's successful Sangomar block off Senegal holding the discovery of the same name. However, recently FAR awarded Shearwater GeoServices a 3D Isometrix seismic acquisition which will cover parts of Block A5 and provide new data over a shallow water area.
