Chevon adds E Guinea and Cameroon undeveloped reserves via Noble

Chevron has moved into Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon and expanded its recent entry into Egypt with its US $13 Bn purchase of Noble Energy. The US major's West African focus has been in Angola, Congo Brazzaville and Nigeria until now but it has added the two new countries in the region saying that there is a "strong position in Equatorial Guinea with further growth opportunities." Whether this slows the government's hopes for the commercialisation of Noble's discovered but yet undeveloped reserves remains to be seen.
