Springfield Ghana results would need new FPSO

Springfield E&P's claim to have uncovered more than 1.2 Bn bbl of oil with its first drilling in Ghana is being treated with cautious optimism. The Stena Forth drillship only spudded the first of two planned wells on the West Cape Three Points Block 2 (WCTP2) block on October 7. Less than six weeks later Springfield said it has uncovered more oil than in the Jubilee field and also commercial quantities of gas - although the country already has an abundance of the latter.
