Savannah signs for fast-track Niger project with pipe to Nigeria

Savannah Petroleum and Niger have signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to move forward an early production system (EPS) with the company having just made its fourth oil discovery. The government of Niger has also signed an agreement in principle to build oil pipeline down to a new refinery in northern Nigeria. The MoU for the two projects, which are expected to cost about US $2 Bn, was signed by the two countries' energy ministers. The finance and development will be handled by the private sector headed by Blackoil Energy.
