HyperD encouraged as rig closes on Guinea deep target

Hyperdynamics is approaching total depth on its ultra-deepwa-ter wildcat off Guinea and said it is encouraged by early results. The Pacific Scirocco drillship is working on the Fatala well in 9,505ft (2,897m) of water. Hyperdynamics says Fatala has a 30% chance of success with reserves put at 350m bbl in the best of four zones it is targeting. Total P50 reserves are estimated at 647m bbl and if it comes in then the Scirocco will be immediately used to drill the Bamboo well on the block which has recoverable reserves put at 560m bbl in the primary sand only.
