Uganda finally awards first block from 2015 round

Uganda has finally signed up the first of four operators from the 2015 licensing round after "protracted negotiations". Australia's Armour Energy is the first to close a deal with the final contract for two more blocks with Oranto expected to be signed within weeks. An award ceremony in June with Oranto was called off at the last minute following a campaign against the company in Uganda over claimed irregularities in licensing in Liberia and Mali.
