Nigerian Ogo drilling nears with Qatari cash

Lekoil is hoping to go ahead with a two well appraisal of the deep-water Ogo field off Nigeria in the second half of the year after Qatari financiers agreed to lend money for the drilling campaign. The 773m boe field was discovered in OPL310 back in 2013 with Afren at that point helping out operator Optimum Petro- leum. Since then the demise of Afren, the slump in deepwater activity and a partner dispute between Lekoil and Optimum had put the project on hold.
