Tullow confirmed it is in discussions with the Ghanaian government about bringing new production online from untapped deepwater fields. As previously revealed by AOG(see 15 August),the UK independent is preparing to tender for its giant seven year Life of Field deal covering future spending on all its assets in Ghana. The company has a long internal list of appraisal and exploration opportunities near both TEN and Jubilee that it wants to test with a schedule already set up for the next five years.Last week the executive vice president of Tullow Ghana,Kvveku Awotwi, said:”When you look at Jubilee and TEN,we have more than 1 Bn bbl of resources that we now have to bring into reserves. There are a number of areas within our development producing area that we are actually in active discussions with the government on how we can bring them on through the things that we are doing.Even within the plan of development that was approved long ago there are other targets.”
