...and agrees Benin FSRU project

Total is to build a floating LNG import terminal off Benin.A similar project by UK minnow Gasol collapsed five years ago but the French major has now signed a gas supply agreement and host government agreement with national power company SBEE.Total will develop and operate the regasification infrastructure that will comprise an FSRU located offshore Benin and an offshore pipeline connection to the existing and planned power plants in Maria Gleta.The 15 vear contract is for the supply of 0.5m tpa of LNG.Total announced a similar FSRU project for Cote d'lvoire in 2016.A series of delays appeared to have been cleared last year but an agreement on LNG pricing was said to be the last stumbling block although the government tried to add extra impetus earlier this year.
