SBM expects to award a new hull in its Fast4Ward FPSO programme next month while it is forging a series of new long-term alliances. The company ordered its second hull from SWS in China under its standardised Fast4Ward concept late last year. The vessels offer a generic hull with a catalogue of standardised topsides with the aim of providing predictability for both cost and timing.Chief executive Bruno Chabas said:”Fast4Ward is on track to become a game changer. It is getting a lot of client attraction and as such,we're going to decide before the end of this quarter to order a third hull."Part of the Fast4Ward programme also is really our relationship with the suppliers. And I mentioned to you that I believe that today there is not enough capacity in the market to deliver all the projects that there is.It applies to FPSO contractors, but it also applies to some of our key contractors. So,based on this,we are really forging long-term alliances with some suppliers in order to address this cost.”
