Shell has shortlisted eight groups that will battle it out to be the final two that contest its HA field project off Nigeria.Unlike the nearby HI project,HA was pushed into the competitive Nipex tender process, although the eight firms that have been chosen to progress is remarkably similar. The HA development scenario involves a wellhead platform and a bridge linked production platform with oil being piped to an FSO.The main focus is the gas though which is needed for NLNG Train 7 and will be sent via a new pipeline to the Offshore Gas Gathering System(OGGS).Eight groups have been shortlisted for a compensated pre-FEED.This will then be whittled down to two which will receive up to US $8.5m each for a full FEED with one to be chosen for the EPCIC contract. The list is believed to include: CIMC Raffles/Monobuoy,Delta Afrique,McDermott,NigerStar7/Rosetti Pivot,Saipem,Samsung and Sapura Kencana/Desicon.Nine wells will be drilled on the field in OML 77 and gas production will hit 250 MMcf/d from the 0.8 Tcf of reserves while oil will reach 35,000 b/d from the 38m bbl of reserves. The development of the HB,HD and JK fields will also follow in the relatively near future as part of a larger Shallow Water Offshore project but these will all be purely platform scenarios.
