The joint has a joint rod (12) with spherical head (13), an outer joint part (14) with metal housing (15), and a plastic bearing shell (16). A sealing diaphragm (17) on the outside of the outer joint part is fastened sealed to the bearing shell only via a U-shaped groove (18) in its radial outer edge. The fastening section of the diaphragm is a peripheral fold (21) held in the groove by a clamp ring (22). A side of the groove is formed by ultrasonic forming. The plastic shell is fitted into the metal housing from one side, and is supported with a shoulder (23).
