So while the market for PHEVs is now widely tipped to cool down in the UK, chiefly because of the introduction of some less favourable vehicle taxes for some green cars, demand for such vehicles in Germany is still buzzing. So much so in fact, that when judged from most recent buying trends, likelihood is that before the end of this year Germany could conceivably challenge the UK as West Europe's biggest market for PHEVs. But whether that happens remains to be seen. That, at least, is the impression from a better than expected PHEV sales turnout in the UK's June market. And yet, in Germany June's PHEV sales expanded far faster than some observers had expected.
