New IoT Technology for Food Shelf Life Management

摘要

In this paper, we propose a new IoT technology for food shelf life management. The proposed method is to manage the information of the food purchased in the store by sending it to the home refrigerator. When purchasing at a food store, there is information on purchasing food on POSmachine. The POS machine reads the QR code that stores the home refrigerator IP address in the mobile application to get the IP address of the home refrigerator. And POS machine transmits the purchase information of food to the home refrigerator using IP address of home refrigerator. The homerefrigerator stores the received purchase information in the database. The database provides push alarms for expired food and food lists for the home refrigerator and the mobile application. And then we can view push alarms and food lists in the home refrigerator’s monitor and mobileapplication. Using push alarms and food lists, we can reduce unnecessary consumption, electricity bills, food waste, and prevent food poisoning.
