SGL Carbon is to supply carbon fibres and semi-finished textile products for a range of components in BMW's upcoming electric vehicle (EV), the iNEXT, after signing an agreement with the carmaker. The President Composites - Fibers & Materials (CFM) at SGL Carbon Andreas Wullner believes that the iNEXT will be the second-largest EV programme in terms of the total volume of carbon fibre it will require, behind BMW's i3(1), over 100 000 of which have been produced since 2013.
