Solvay of Brussels, Belgium, is to sell its integrated polyamide (PA) business to BASF of Ludwigshafen, Germany. BASF will pay ?1.6 billion for the business, and the aim is to close the transaction in the third quarter of 2018, after customary regulatory approvals have been obtained and the formal consent of a joint venture partner, Invista owner Koch Industries of Wichita, Kansas, USA, has been received.
