IN nominal terms, the global market for crop protection chemi-I cals further declined to $53.1 billion in harvest year 2016 as measured at the ex-company level and using average year exchange rates throughout. This represents the second year of decline in the global market. The rate of decline, however, has slowedwith the big drop of some 9.8% in 2015 as com-pared to 2014 coming down to a more modest decline of some 2.6% in 2016 as compared to 2015. A recovery fromthis now low base of just over $53 billion should be more readily achieved. The question remains as of to whatextent that growth returns already in 2017.
