Demand for diesel techs grows as program enrollment dips

Pre-COVID pandemic, the economy was booming, and unemployment was at near-record lows. That now feels like a lifetime ago. But not every industry looks back at those days through rose-colored safety glasses. According to data compiled by the TechForce Foundation, the number of students who completed a certified diesel program totaled 12,112 in 2018, reversing the annual upward trend in the number of program graduates that dates back to 2012.
