Mills' prices for welded pipes to start growing in August

Mills' average domestic quotations for 57-108 mm pipes made toGOST 10704 (05) have dropped by 1% in June.Metal Expert estimates, in July the production cost of standard welded pipeswill remain unchanged in Russia. FOB-prices are expected to rise in July, butonly the gap between domestic and export prices will shrink as a result (to$10-15/t on EXW terms). Domestic prices for HRC may start rising in Augustconsistently with export quotations. In August-September prices for strip to pipemanufacturers will increase by around 2-3% monthly, following an upwardtrend observed in the foreign markets. Cost of welded pipe production willincrease in mid-Q3, promoting mills' prices.
