The coal export volume from Westshore Terminals, a coal-exporting base in Canada rose above 30 million tons in 2018. In fact, the coal export volume (including petroleum coke) from Westshore Terminals in 2018 amounted to 30.464 million tons, up by 1.43 million tons (4.9%) from the prior year. This is the first time since the year 2014 for the annual coal export volume from the same terminals to rise above 30 million tons. The ratio of metallurgical coal in the total coal export volume in 2018 stayed at 57%, down by 4 points from the prior year, for which the ratio of thermal coal came to 42%, up by 3 points from the prior year.
