Vale Patrick Riekard Donovan: Industry leader

Pat Donovan MRACI CChem, former General Manager of Albright & Wilson (Australia) Limiteds Surfactant Business, passed away on 20 October 2009 after a short illness. He was 74. Pat had been working for Robert Bryce Pty Ltd in Adelaide when he was appointed the South Australian Manager of the Gardinol Chemical Company in the late 1950s. After Gardinol was taken over by Albright & Wilson in 1966, Pat moved to become the Tasmanian Manager, and then, after a period in Head Office in Melbourne, Albright & Wilsons NSW Manager in 1976. He was promoted to the role of Surfactants General Manager in 1989 and took early retirement in 1996.
